Man’s Best-Friend is what we call our pet dogs, and this is all because they are loyal and are loving. But unfortunately, a four-month-old puppy was not treated like one.

Sharon Norton, an Animal Control Officer from Brookhaven, Mississippi, responded to a tip that said a brown puppy was dumped by on the side of a road along with a chair and a TV.

Sharon said, “I felt sick to my stomach” and added that the brown puppy was starving.

She said, “That poor baby, he’d been a good four or five days without food.”

Sharon said that the brown puppy can possible by a hound/Doberman pinscher mix.

The brown puppy was waiting for his owner to return for him and was afraid to leave the area as it was not familiar with it.

She added, “He was just too scared because it was a strange area. It’s a deserted road. On both sides it was nothing but woods.”

Sharon said that she fed the puppy with her hand so the puppy could trust her. Later on, she carried the puppy to her truck.

She added, “He was so happy because he knew he was going to get food now. He was rescued and safe.”

Sharon Norton is a Veterinary Technician, said that she gave a bath to the puppy and named him “La-Z-Boy Gatson”.

Norton also made a Facebook post about the incident, she said, “To the person that dumped this chair, your puppy was waiting for you to come back, slowly starving to death because it was afraid to leave the chair to find food. shame on you for doing this to this puppy.. but one day Karma will meet up with you.”

The post that she made on Lost and Found Pets in Lincoln County, MS went viral.

Here are some of the comments that it got:

A user said, “Very sad But at least the pup has hope now that you found it”

Another user said, “Oh this breaks my heart. Poor baby!!! God bless you for saving him. I’d look in back of chair or down sides for papers to see if I could find a name of [who] may have done this.”

A third user said, “It’s heartbreaking that anyone can do this to a soul of any kind. I glad he had a hero show up to help him.”

According to local news agencies, La-Z-Boy Gatson is currently being cared by the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League and will be available for adoption once it is fully healthy.
