Son Jailed For Trying To Kill Convicted Pedophile Father With A Porcelain Figurine In Care Home

31-year-old Daniel Green was visiting his 78-year-old father, David, at the Ravenswing Manor in Blackburn, Lancashire, on March 29, 2019, when he tried to bludgeon his father to death with a porcelain figure.

The son said he wanted to kill his father for the horrific crimes he did to children.

Green attacked his father who is a convicted pedophile.

The Preston Crown Court sentenced Daniel Green to serve 8 years and 8 months in prison for trying to kill his father at the Ravenswing Manor Care Home in Blackbur.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Green and his father were watching television together in the care home’s lounge when the attack happened.

Katie Heslop, a support worker, head Green shout.

Katie rushed towards the lounge to see what happened when she arrived, she saw blood everywhere and a blanket wrapped around the arm of Green.

The floor of the room had blood spattered everywhere.

It is reported that the blood came from the father of Green, who has dementia.

Green hit the head of his father.

Katie also found a porcelain figure on the floor, it was smashed into pieces.

Daniel Green admitted the crime.

Green told Katie that he tried to strangle his dad but it did not work.

While talking to the police, he said, “I tried to strangle him but I only had small hands, so I hit him repeatedly over the head with a porcelain figure. He sexually abused children when I was a child and I’ve not been able to vent it.”

31-year-old Green and his 78-year-old father were rushed to a hospital, where they were treated.

Green lived alone with his father, the mother of Green passed away 10 years ago.

When authorities told him that his 78-year-old father was responding well, Green said he is “disappointed”.

He added, “I can’t even kill someone right. Pathetic.”

David Green, the father of Daniel Green, was found guilty in sexually abusing 2 young girls when Daniel was still a kid.

Investigations revealed that Green used to visit his dad spontaneously before he tried to kill him earlier this year.

Judge Mark Brown said Daniel harbored resentment towards David Green for a long time.

Judge Brown added, “It appears anger and resentment grew significantly after he developed dementia and the relationship between you deteriorated. The anger increased and eventually manifested itself in the explosive attack on him.”
