Suicide Bomber Kills 63 And Injures 182 People At Wedding Reception In Afghanistan

Kabul Wedding Terror Attack: A suicide bomber killed 63 people and injured over 180 people in a single attack at a wedding reception in Afghanistan.

The suicide bomb attack comes after the Taliban and the US are trying to reach an agreement on the withdrawal of the US military in exchange for a Taliban commitment on security and peace talks with the Afghanistan Government.

The Taliban denied carrying out the attack at the Wedding in Kabul.

Nasrat Rahimi, the interior ministry spokesman of Afghanistan, said that kids and women were among the casualties of the terror attack.

President Ashraf Ghani released a statement about the incident on Twitter.

He said, “I strongly condemn the inhumane attack on the wedding hall in Kabul last night. My top priority for now is to reach out to the families of victims of this barbaric attack. On behalf of the nation I send my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who were martyred.”

He added, “For those who are wounded, I pray for your speedy recovery. I have ordered the relevant authorities to urgently assist in managing the wounded. In response to this targeted attack I have called an extraordinary security meeting to review and prevent such security lapses.”

He continued, “Taliban cannot absolve themselves of blame, for they provide platform for terrorists. Today is the day of mourning, hence #StateBuilder have cancelled today’s gathering at the Loya Jirga tent.”

Pictures of the aftermath of the Kabul Wedding Bomb Blast showed bodies strewn amidst the tables and chairs being overturned.

Bloodstains could also be seen on the carpet.

Mohammad Hasan, a resident in the area, rushed to the hall after the bomb blast happened.

Hasan said, “I saw many women and children screaming and crying.”
