A 16-year-old boy was detained by the Jabalpur Police on June 9, 2019, for allegedly having sex with a 4-year-old girl.

Officials said that the incident happened under the jurisdiction of the Sihora Police Station.

Officer Mahendra Singh Rajput, the in-charge of the Sihora Police Station, said that the rape happened when the teen saw the 4-year-old girl playing alone outside her home.

The 16-year-old boy allegedly took the 4-year-old to an empty house where he raped her.

The mother of the 4-year-old girl came to the empty house when she was looking for her, but somehow, the teen managed to escape.

The 4-year-old girl then told what the teen did to her.

The mother of the 4-year-old girl registered a complaint at the Sihora Police Station and it was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act.

The teen was then detained by the police.

The girl is currently admitted to a medical college hospital in Jabalpur.
