Nusrat Jahan Ruhi and Mimi Chakraborty, the two MPs of the Trinamool Congress, took their oaths today as official members of the Lok Sabha.

Both Nusrat Jahan Ruhi and Mimi Chakraborty are actors who decided to take a step into politics.

Mimi and Nusrat were unable to take their Lok Sabha oaths as Nusrat recently got married to Nikhil Jain, a businessman, and Mimi attended a ceremony outside India.

At the end of their speeches, Mimi and Nusrat said Vande Mataram, Jai Hindi, and Jai Bangla.

The two also went up and touched the feet of Om Birla, the house speaker.

Nusrat Jahan Ruhi is a member of the TMC Basirhat and Mimi is part of the lower house and is representing Jadhavpur.
