A bear tried to steal an entire dumpster from a Marijuana Dispensary at 138 E Main St.

Earlier this week, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Northeast Region shared a video on Twitter, which showed a bear breaking through the fence of a marijuana dispensary in Lyons.

The bear even tried to drag the dumpster out of the property.

But the attempts of the bear were unsuccessful as the dumpster that he tried to steal is bear-resistant.

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife said that after the “stealing” attempt of the bear, the wild animal roamed around the neighborhood for an hour.

The incident happened before the midnight of July 17.

Jason Clay, the spokesperson of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, released a statement about the incident, he said,

“It will take a community effort, not just one business or home, to secure attractants to prevent bears coming back constantly for an easy meal (trash, bird seed, etc).”

Jason added, “Relocation potentially could be an option on the table if this bear is habituated in town there and reliant on trash. That could escalate into a dangerous situation for human-bear conflict.”
