Watch: Fishermen Filmed Sailing Dangerously Close To 66-Foot Plug Hole In Derbyshire

Caught On Cam: Fishermen were filmed sailing really close to a huge plug hole at the Ladybower Reservoir in Derbyshire.

The incident prompted the local authorities to send out a warning to everyone sailing in the reservoir.

Flo Neilson, the person who filmed the incident, was walking her 2 dogs when she saw the fishermen dangerously close to the 66-foot plug hole.

During her interview with the local press, Flo said, “It appeared they were floating towards the plughole whilst still casting their lines, but they were purposely paddling with flippers on their feet.”

She added, “It looked a dangerous and risky thing to do, but they seemed to be in control of the boats and had soon moved away after I’d stopped filming.”

It is really amazing that the fishermen managed to control their boat and get out of the dangerously huge plug hole.

According to reports, there are 2 plug holes at the Ladybower Reservoir in Derbyshire. Both plug holes drop into a tunnel that takes excess water to the Derwent River.

The extra water travels through a tunnel.

Authorities sent out a warning after the video went viral.

Severn Trent Water, the company that owns the reservoir, issued a warning and requested anglers and people to stay away from the deep plug holes.

In a statement that they released, they said, “We’re happy for people to use our reservoir for boating and fishing, and boats are available to hire from the fishery.”

The statement added, “ However, we do ask that people stay well away from the plughole, as obviously this is really dangerous. We’ll be reminding everyone who uses the water to avoid the plug hole area and to stay safe.”
