Wave Pool Malfunction In China Left 44 People Injured After It Created “Tsunami” Type Wave

Officials said that 44 people were injured after a wave pool malfunctioned in china and created a tsunami type of wave sending swimmers crashing out of the pool.

The incident happened at the Yulong Shuiyun Water Amusement Park in Longjing, China.

A video of the incident was also shared online, it shows how the wave pool malfunctioned and how it created a “tsunami-like” wave.

In the video, you can see the wave picking up height and speed.

The wave was so strong that the swimmers were thrown out of the pool and bystanders were even knocked down.

According to South China Morning, 44 people sustained injuries from the incident and 5 were rushed to the hospital.

It is reported that some sustained fractured rib injuries in the accident.

Authorities of the Yulong Shuiyun Water Amusement Park in Longjing said that the malfunction happened due to a power cut.

It is reported that “a power cut that damaged electronic equipment in the tsunami pool control room, which led to the waves in the tsunami pool becoming too big and injuring people,”

The Yulong Shuiyun Water Amusement Park in Longjing has been temporarily closed down so authorities and experts can investigate the unfortunate incident.
