Woman Gives Birth In Walmart While Trying To Buy Toilet Paper
A woman in Missouri, USA, reportedly gave birth in a Walmart when she was trying to buy toilet paper amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
The woman, whose identity was not shared with the public, gave birth in the toilet paper aisle last week after her water broke while she was shopping.
Luckily, a nurse was present in the shopping center, which is located in Springfield Walmart.
The nurse and the store manager assisted the mother in giving birth.
Firefighters also arrived on the scene to help in delivering the baby.
Jessica Hinkle, the store manager, released a statement about the incident.
Hinkle said: “Crowd control, [I’m] not like the best with blood so that was my job, holding the sheet and crowd control, making sure that nobody invaded what privacy the poor lady still had,” said Jessica Hinkle, the store manager.”
According to reports, the woman took 45 minutes to give birth.
Customers reportedly cheered as the woman and her newborn baby were being taken away in an ambulance.
Recalling the moment, Hinkle said: “You know a feel-good moment, everybody’s going through so much and with a baby it’s like everything comes full circle.”
Hinkle said she called the woman to check up on how she was doing.
The woman said that she and her baby are doing pretty well.
The incident comes amidst the coronavirus outbreak, which has caused people all over the world to panic buy.
Toilet paper and other essential items such as food are currently being hoarded by people.
