Horrifying images and videos that were shared on the internet show the moment a 4ft snake was removed from a Russian woman’s mouth after it slithered inside her while she was sleeping.

The reptile crawled inside her as she slept in the yard of her house.

The incident happened in Levashi village in Dagestan.

Feeling unwell, the young woman was rushed to a hospital, where she was immediately placed under general anesthetic.

The footage shows the gloved hands of a male doctor removing the snake after he inserted a tube down her throat.

A female medic then grabbed the snake with a horrified expression on her face as it got pulled from the mouth of the woman.

The woman then jumped back after realizing that the snake that got inside the patient was extremely long.

The snake was then dropped into a medical bucket.

It is unclear if the snake was alive when it was inside the woman.

The ministry of health in Dagestan, a mountainous republic bordering the Caspian Sea, did not release a statement for the horrible and very unusual incident.

Local says that incidents like this do happen, but they are not that frequent.

Elderlies advise young children not to sleep outside their house because of the risk of snakes slithering inside their mouths.

The woman that was in the video was not identified by the people that shared the horrible and scary video.
