A mother of 3 kids was left horrified after she found out that there was a stranger living in the attic of her house.

Monica Green, who is from Rockhampton, East Australia, said she felt violated after she discovered that there was an intruder living secretly in her attic.

On January 18 of this year, Monica said she came back to her house to see some things out of place and upon investigating, it was found that there was someone living in her attic.

She came to her house with the air conditioner on, the back door open, and chicken nuggets left on the kitchen counter.

She called the cops to her house and upon searching, there was strong evidence that suggested someone was living in the attic.

During an interview with local news agencies, the woman said that she felt violated.

She added:

I felt violated. I felt like my personal space had been invaded. I felt shocked, terrified, scared.

The husband of Green is away for work and the family are currently afraid that the intruder might return.

Green ended up changing all the locks of her house fearing they might have stolen her keys.

Talking about the incident, the woman said:

What has this person been doing in my house when I’m not home? Were they trying to harm me or my kids? Did they want one of my kids? Were they going to come down at night and murder us? There’s all these unknown questions rolling around in my head. I’m finding myself constantly shaking at the smallest noise. I’m triple-checking all my locks now before I go to bed. I spent the night in the house last night with family here, but being alone in the home scares me.

Evidence has been collected from the scene.

Green said the authorities are still investigating.
