Here’s An Incredible First Look At The World’s Biggest Heart That Humans Have Ever Preserved

Today there are a lot of mysteries in the world. As much knowledge as we have, there are still things that we may never understand. We are constantly discovering new things about the world. A blue whale’s heart has long been rumoured to be the size of a car. Some researchers say it is large enough for humans to swim through. It weighs nearly 400 pounds with 5 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet dimensions.

Now scientists have had the chance to study this massive organ of Blue Whale in detail for the first time – and their gruesome discovery has shed new light on these majestic creatures.

First Look At The World's Biggest Heart

The world’s biggest heart belonging to a Blue Whale:

It took 4 team members from the Royal Ontario Museum to push the Blue Whale’s heart out through a window they made between the whale’s ribs and the side of its chest cavity.

Weighing 180 kilos, it tips the scales at the point where most scales for people top out. It could pump easily around 58 gallons of blood through a blue whale’s body.

That is fascinating. The heart looks bigger than the woman who is studying it! It’s currently being preserved by Jacqueline Miller and the team from the Royal Ontario Museum. It’s eventually going to be plastinated and put on display! Still so much to learn about the biggest animal that’s ever lived!
