Mahanati titled Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil released on 9th May 2018. The Telugu-Tamil biographical period film based on the life of South Indian actress Savitri. The film is produced by C. Ashwini Dutt, Swapna Dutt, Priyanka Dutt on Vyjayanthi Movies & Swapna Cinema banner and directed by Nag Aswin. It stars Keerthy Suresh in the titular role, Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Devarakonda in other pivotal roles.

According to trade analyst Rajasekar, the film has collected $230k from the premieres held across the US.

He wrote, “#Mahanati $230k already in US! It looks like, with the positive word of mouth, the film is likely to enter the one million club. Phenomenal, congrats @KeerthyOfficial @Samanthaprabhu2 @NirvanaCinemas (sic).”

The film has raked in $854K at the US box office as of Friday, something with trade analyst Ramesh Bala too confirmed on his social media. These numbers make ‘Mahanati’ the 6 th biggest Telugu grosser of 2018 as of now. He wrote, “At the #USA Box Office, #Mahanati reaches $854K as of Friday late night and becomes 2018’s No.6 Telugu Movie..1. #Rangasthalam, 2. #BharatAneNenu, 3. #Agnyaathavaasi, 4. #Bhaagmathie, 5. #Tholiprema, 6. #Mahanati.” (sic)

Another trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the breakup of the film at the US box office till Thursday, revealing it had raked in $ 629,362 till then. He wrote on his social media, “Midweek, non-holiday release… Yet, Telugu film #Mahanati takes a STRONG START in USA… Riding on glowing reviews + strong word of mouth…Tue previews $ 297,997 / 139 locations, Wed $ 192,214 / 142 locations, Thu $ 139,151 / 140 locations, Total: $ 629,362 [₹ 4.24 cr].” (sic)

Mahanati Collection Till Date:

The makers recently revealed on social media that the film has raked in $1.9M at the US box office and wrote, “#Mahanati enters into $1.9 Million club and is at all time 11th highest grossing Telugu film in USA.” (sic) They later even revealed that new locations have been added in the US and that the film is slowly racing towards the $2M mark. They wrote, “#Mahanati Racing towards $2 million. New Locations added from today..don’t miss it!” (sic)
