The much awaited Telugu biopic “Mahanati” titled “Nadigaiyar Thilagam” in Tamil, is an upcoming 2018 Indian Telugu -Tamil languages biographical period film is going to release on 9th May 2018. The movie is based on the life of South Indian actress Savitri, directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Ashwini Dutt for Vyjayanthi Movies.

It stars Keerthy Suresh in the titular role, Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Devarakonda, Naga Chaitanya, Anushka Shetty, Mohan Babu, and Prakash Raj. The film began production in May 2017.

Prakash Raj also joined the team in August 2017 to allegedly play the role of producer Aluri Chakrapani.
