Sri Devi was popularly described as an angel down from heaven. Her beauty was incomparable to any actress and that is the reason why she ruled the whole Indian industry single-handedly from the age of 4. Sri Devi entered into the movies as a child artist.

Her immense popularity from the age of 4 made her quit her studies and she concentrated completely on movies. She became a star in no time and her beauty and acting skills on screen mesmerized the audience to the core.

Sri Devi was mostly accompanied by her mother for her shootings but sometimes it’s her little sister Sri Latha who used to take care of her sister’s needs on the set. Sri Devi and Sri Latha shared a close bond with each other and she played a huge role in Sri Devi’s successful film career. She stood like a shadow with her sister from 1972-1993.

It was Sri Latha who first shot her sister’s singing and dancing video. Sri Devi felt incomplete without Sri Latha after her marriage. She always expressed her love for sister at various interviews also. Though Sri Devi and Sri Latha had a spat over the properties after their mother’s demise, Sri Devi paid a huge lump sum to Sri Latha to make things normal between both of them.

“Sridevi and Srilatha had a few differences in the allocation of that amount which was later cleared by the family members. And besides a share in this compensation, Sridevi used to send a lot of money to her sister Srilatha and they were fine.” said their uncle Venugopal.

Sri Latha didn’t come out when Sri Devi passed away which left everyone in shock. Her husband attended the prayer meet organized in Chennai by Sri Devi’s husband Boney Kapoor and revealed that Sri Latha is shocked and she doesn’t want to come into the limelight to mourn for her sister’s drastic accident. He even said that he doesn’t know who Venugopal Reddy in his 28-year old marriage with Sri Latha.

Sri Devi passed away in an unfortunate accident in Dubai where she lost her conscious and fell into a bathtub accidentally and died eventually due to drowning. The Dubai forensic authorities reported that there’re no speculations involved in the case and confirmed her demise was due to accidental drowning which left the whole country in shock.
