Tamil comedy film ‘Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran’ hit the theaters today. Written and directed by Ezhil, the film stars Vishnu Vishal and Nikki Galrani in the leading roles. Ezhil is known for his rural comedy flicks. His films cater to a particular set of audience and he keeps entertaining them with no logic fun, laughable moments in every film of  ahis. He is backgain with another comedy film, though not with his usual rural based one this time.

Vishnu plays ‘Murugan’ who is the right hand to an MLA played by Robo Shankar, while Nikki Galrani of Ko2 fame plays a cop in the film. Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran Tamil Movie Story Line:

Vishnu Vishal essays Murugan ‘Jacket’, a sari-blouse designer turned comrade-in-arms to the MLA played by Robo Shankar. Any work that Murugan does, he always goofs up but he thinks he is the best person to get the work done. Things get out of hand when Jacket must hand over Rs 10 lakh bribe to the director general of police to get Archana (Nikki Galrani) placed in the force. The MLA slips into a coma after a road accident and is the key to a minister’s secret bounty of Rs 500 crores. More chaos continues as Murugan, Archana and Purushan get entangled with a bunch of people trying to get their hands on the wealth.

Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran Movie Review & Rating:

Plus Points: Despite weak logics and ordinary plot, Ezhil manages to impress the audience that he caters to more often than not. ‘Pushpa’ comedy and Robo Shankar’s child like mannerisms are some of the comedy highlights. But these comedies might not cater to all and some might feel it boring.

Minus Points: The film is very predictable with loads of overbeaten scenes and lags in the first half. The movie falls flat with the unconvincing chemistry between Archana and Murugan. A little more sprucing and tightening in the first half could have helped the proceedings.
