Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh successfully conducted DEECET examination for the admissions into two year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed.,) in Government District Institutes of Educational Training (DIETs) and Private Elementary Teacher Training Institutions in A.P from 17-19th May 2016. A huge number of candidates applied and appeared for the examination.

Directorate of Government Examinations is an independent department functioning under ministry of secondary education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The department is responsible for conducting the SSC/OSSC Public Examinations and a number of minor examinations such as NMMS, NTSE, D.Ed, C.L.I Sc, TTC, Language Pandit Entrance for Telugu, Hindi and Urdu, Head Masters Accounts Test etc. Every year AP government conducts the DEECET examination.
