13 People Injured After Massive Blast Rips Through Gas Station In Russia

At least 13 people have been injured in an explosion that was sparked by a fire at a gas station in Volgograd, Russia.

10 of the victims in the incident were rushed to a hospital.

A video that was shared on social media shows an enormous fireball shooting into the sky as the explosion happened.

Victims in the explosion included firefithers that were responding to an initial blaze at the gas station, which happened at around 12:40 pm.

Vladislav Kopyev, head of the region’s 1st fire and rescue unit, said:

The firefighters were literally scattered by a blast wave.

The fire was sparked by a discharge of static electricity as fuel was pumped from a taker to an underground storage tank.

The staff evacuated before the explosion caused a larger blaze.

The explosion reportedly spread over 1,000 meters.

70 firefighters and a firefighting robot were sent at the spot to extinguish the massive fire at the gasoline station.
