A loyal dog stayed by the dead body of his owner for 2 straight days despite being stranded in snow.
According to reports, the incident happened not from their house in California, USA.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office said that the body of David Deshon was found in the snow around 100 yards from a neighbor’s Foresthill home with Baby Dog, his beloved pooch.
The man went missing on Thursday last week.
His body was found by a search team on Saturday.
Shona, the daughter of David, believes that the vehicle of her father got stuck in the snow and was hiking up a steep area to get home with Baby Dog and Buddy, his 2 dogs.
She added:
He tried to hike up 200 feet that way and decided [to] and came back. You can see his tracks in the snow.
Buddy, the other dog, was found at the house of a neighbor.
Baby dog stayed behind with Deshon.
Baby Dog was curled up on the chest of Deshon and was trying to keep him warm.
The dog was also not allowing anyone come near his owner.
Shona continued:
He didn’t die alone. He didn’t die alone at all.
The rescuers had to get a neighbor who knew Baby Dog in order to lure him away from the body of Deshon.
Baby Dog and Buddy are currently in care of Placer County Animals.
Shona told the authorities that she could not take the 2 dogs, however, she feels like she needs to get Baby Dog because of the act that they did.
