BARC Recruitment 2018 Selection Procedure

For Category 1:

  • A written examination would be organised as the first level syllabus of which is based on the subjects at Diploma/B.Sc. level. A total of 40 multiple choice questions are to be asked which must be answered within the duration of one hour.
  • Candidates who qualify this exam will be called for an interview.

For Category 2: To be recruited under this category, a candidate needs to qualify three stages.

  • Stage 1 (Preliminary test): It is a screening test which would comprise of 50 objective type questions. Candidates would be given one hour duration to finish the test. 20 questions will be included from mathematics, 20 from Science and 10 from General Awareness. 3 marks will be given for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for wrong attempt. Candidates with 40% or more (for UR category) and 30% or more (reserved category) will be shortlisted for next stage.
  • Stage 2 (Advanced Test): This test will also pack 50 questions and three marks for each correct answer and deduction of one marks for the wrong answer. Candidate will be shortlisted for next level on the basis performance in stage 2 only. UR category candidates scoring minimum 30% and Reserved category candidates acquiring at least 20% will be shortlisted for the next stage.
  • Stage 3 (Skill Test): Number of candidates selected for this stage will not exceed 4-5 times figure of vacancies available.

Age Limit:

  • Category I: Between 19 to 24 years.
  • Cat. II: between 18 to 22 years.
  • Relaxation: Candidates from SC/ ST category will get five years of age relaxation while OBC candidates will get 3 years relaxation in upper age limit.

  • Online applications can be submitted using www.barconlineexam.in.
  • Forms must be filled out before the last date.
  • Application Fee: Gen/ OBC candidates need to pay Rs. 150/- for Category I and Rs. 100 for category II. 
  • SC/ ST candidates are excluded from the fee payment.
  • The fee can be paid using the online mode.
