Telangana Chief Minister KCR Kisses Cricketer Ambati Rayudu’s Hand
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was accorded a red-carpet welcome before the start of the match. As Hyderabad is hosting the first One-Day International (ODI) after formation of a separate Telangana state, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) rolled out the red carpet. KCR today stressed the need for encouraging cricket in a big way by constructing one stadium in every district with international standards. He displayed a special affection towards local kid Ambati Rayudu and gave a peck on his hand.
Telangana Setlers responds Over KCR on Ambati Rayudu:
Participating as chief guest, he released a pigeon and balloons into air to inaugurate the India-Sri Lanka third one day international at Uppal Stadium. The officials introduced sportsmen of two teams to the Chief Minister. Speaking on the occasion, the CM asked the BCCI to take initiative in training and encouragement for cricket in Telangana. Giving pat to HCA for coming forward to construct stadiums in the State, KCR promised that the government will extend cooperation for land needed.
The tight security was no deterrent to the fans, who were not allowed to carry mobile phones, carry bags or even water bottles inside the stadium. With the chief minister visiting the stadium, the police further tightened the security. Traffic restrictions around the stadium in view of the VIP movement caused traffic jams.
About 1,500 policemen from various wings of the Cyberabad police were deployed as part of the massive security. According to Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, 56 closed circuit cameras were installed at the venue. A command and control room was also set up to keep a tight vigil. Police had also kept Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and the anti-terror OCTOPUS teams on standby.

Rayudu’s future seemed to have been secured well before he had crossed his teenage years. But from 2004-05 onwards, all the way to 2010-11, Rayudu’s story was almost like a lesson in how not to plan a big, international career. There was a feud with the Hyderabad Cricket Association, the infamous scrap with Arjun Yadav, Shivlal Yadav’s son, the shift to Andhra, then the association with the Indian Cricket League.
