A video that is viral on social media right now shows a number of passengers applauding and cheering as a woman was kicked out of the plane for refusing to wear a mask.

The video was captured by Jordan Slade, a passenger of the plane, and it shows the moment the woman was kicked off the American Airlines flight.

The flight was headed from Ohio to North Carolina.

Slade said that the incident happened on July 19, 2020.

The woman defied flight guidelines that state everyone should wear a mask in order to fly.

The woman in the video, whose identity was not revealed, said she could not wear a face mask because of a medical condition.

Jordan said that the woman was arguing since the beginning.

She reportedly demanded to be boarded first in the flight and caused a scene before the passengers boarded the flight.

Jordan explained what happened:

She also refused to wear a mask putting others on the flight at risk. Another passenger even got up to confront her about her behavior with no mask.

The woman argued with the flight attendants of the plane for so long that the airplane had to go back to the airport to refuel.

Jordan also talked about other passengers on the flight.

Jordan, an eyewitness, said:

A woman in the back got up from her seat and sort of confronted the attendant saying she was going to miss her connection and then directed the conversation back to the woman saying if she misses her flight because of her.

Jordan took a video of the flight attendants kicking off the woman from the plane and shared it on TikTok, where it went viral right away.

Social media users are calling the woman in the video as Karen.

Karen is a nickname that is given to white women in the United States of America who think they are above the law.

American Airlines released a policy about wearing masks.

The policy states:

Be sure your face covering is on before you board the plane and wear it during your flight. If you decline to wear one, you may be denied boarding and future travel on American.
