The film “Lipstick Under My Burka” has hit the big screen on 21^st July after many problems faced. The film has faced the sensor objections to release but some how the film managed to steadily run at the box office. The film is released in 400 screens on last Friday is still continuing with good collections at the box office which is surprising. The movie has managed to collect a total of Rs. 9.71 crore.

The movie is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, with the lead roles by Konkana Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur.

The movie Lipstick under my Burkha narrated the story of four small town women who have different and regressive mindsets of our society and their family. The whole story revolves around these people and what things are going to change their lives.

Film Critic Saibal Chatterjee said, “Lipstick Under My Burkha throws the whole she bangs into the pot – the result is a big, big bang that is bound to ring in our ears for a long, long time.”

“The actors turn in brilliant performances, giving the film an added edge,” Saibal Chatterjee added.

The movie has grabbed a total of 1.27 crore in it’s on the opening day collections. BY weekend the movie has reached a total of 4.58 crore i.e 2.17 crore and Sunday 2.41 crore.

Previously the movie also faced the sensor issues from Central Board of Film Certification as the movie contains some abusive content and pornography in its audio. But after the support of Bollywood industry and many others, the film has come out to theaters.
