Australian Woman Broke Stage 4 Lockdown To Drive 75 Kilometers To Buy And Eat Kebabs
A woman from Melbourne, Australia, was caught breaking stage 4 lockdown because she wanted to buy a kebab and eat it.
The woman was stopped by the authorities because she was out during the 8 pm to 5 am curfew.
A report that was published by the Daily Mail said that the woman was 75 kilometers away from her house when she was pulled over by the officers.
The incident happened in Werribee, South-West of Melbourne, Australia, on the evening of Monday this week.
She told the police officers that she was from Geelong and had traveled to Melbourne as she was trying to satisfy her cravings.
After buying the snack, she would then visit her boyfriend, who is from Werribee, said the woman.
According to the current stage 4 lockdown conditions, which apply to people that are in metropolitan Melbourne, the curfew means that everyone should be at their house between the times of 8 pm and 5 am.
The only reasons why you should leave your house between those hours are for work, medical emergencies, and caregiving.
Well, unfortunate for the woman. Buying a kebab 75 kilometers away from home after curfew did not fall within the reasons that allow you to travel during the lockdown.
Not only emergencies, but you are also only allowed to go out of your house if you are going to:
- Buy essential items (morning)
- Buy food (morning)
- Care
- Caregiving
- Exercise
- Work
