The Florida police arrested James Cordell Doughty Suthann, a dog groomer, for breaking off the tail of a Service Dog, who is owned by a  disabled owner.

The man was arrested for breaking the tail of a German Shepherd who wasn’t sitting still.

The local sheriff said that the act is so “horrific” that it is one of the “most difficult things I have ever had to watch.”

James has been fired from his job as a Dog Groomer and is now facing a felony charge of Animal Cruelty.

A CCTV footage shows James getting angry while the dog was moving around during the grooming section.

Wayne Ivey, the Sherriff of the Brevard County, said: “The video is so graphic that I will not post on Facebook.”

Sherriff Ivey added, “But trust me when I tell you that it is one of the most difficult things I have ever had to watch in my 39 years of Law Enforcement because of the horrific and cruel way the pet was treated.”

Sheriff Ivey said the CCTV footage showed James squeezing the dog’s head and lifted the dog off the ground by holding its tail.

This caused the tail of the dog to “be twisted a full 360 degrees and to be broken to the extent it could not be reattached.”

Sherriff Ivey added, “To make matters worse at the end of the incident Suthann had the audacity to strike the dog in the back of the head with the nozzle from the hose he was using to bathe him.”

The 8-year-old German shepherd service dog is going through an emergency surgery that amputated his tail.

James was arrested after an investigation was done by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Animal Cruelty Unit and the Satellite Beach Police Department.

Sherriff Ivey sent out a warning to anyone who harms an animal in Brevard County.

The Sherriff said, “If you harm an animal in Brevard County, we will take your butt straight to jail!!”
