Kaththi is the latest movie of Vijay in  Tamil Nadu.  Vijay’s Kaththi has been released today worldwide across 2000 screens and it have record release in kerala, US, UK & Malaysia. It was released around 500 screens in Tamilnadu. He is next to Superstar Rajinikanth in terms of fan following in the state of Tamil Nadu. This movie is directed by ace director A.R.Murugadoss who earlier collaboratd with hero Vijay for the movie Tuppakki which is also a huge blokbuster. This movie has Samanth Ruth Prabhu in the female lead role while young sensation Anirudh Ravichandran has composed music for this flick.

Vijay’s Kaththi which was released on 22nd of October, 2014  worldwide has taken record openings in Tamil Nadu. As per the reports, this film has earned approximately Rs 12.5 Crores on the opening day at the Tamil Nadu box office and this movie had a theatrical release in over 2000 screens which is the hightest for a Kollywood movie and also for Vijay. With the first show of this movie, it has got a good response from the audience. With the negative talk that has got for the movie Poojai starring Vishal and Shruthi Hassan, Kaththi is expected to rake huge colletions across the state of Tamil Nadu.

It was expected to beat the first day collections of Ajith’s “Veeram” and Vijay’s “Jilla” in the state. “Veeram” and “Jilla” reportedly grossed over 7 crores on the opening day at the Tamilnadu box office.
