Russian Man Has Coin Removed From His Nose After Pushing It Inside 50 Years Ago

A 59-year-old man from Russia had a coin removed from his nose after he pushed it up inside there 50 years ago.

The man, who was not identified, was just 6 years old when the incident happened.

According to reports, he pushed a coin up inside his nostril.

The man said he was too scared to tell his mother, who was really strict, about the coin up inside his nostril.

He also said that he forgot about the coin.

Fast forward to this year, the man visited a hospital because he was not breathing properly through his right nostril.

I mean, how could you forget about a coin up your nose?

As a result of his complaints, the doctors ordered a scan in order to see what was causing the blockage.

They ended up finding something they don’t really get to find in a nasal passage.

Rhinoliths, stones that are present in the nasal cavity, had formed around the coin that got stuck there 50 years ago.

I mean, what was he expecting? The coin to fall down on its own?

Jokes aside, let’s get back to the topic.

Medics had to carry out an endoscopic surgery under general anesthetic in order to remove stones and the coin that he had placed inside his nose.

The coin that was up there is a Soviet one kopek coin, which by the way is not being used in the country anymore.

After the collapse of the USSR in 1991, the money is no longer being used.

Specialist otorhinolaryngologist Elena Nepryakhina released a statement about the unusual incident.

They added:

We operated on Friday and he was discharged on Monday. He has regained full nasal breathing.

After the surgery, the man was able to breathe properly.
