A controversial video has surfaced the social media showing the newly elected BJP councillor, Kishore Shet from Goa being showered with milk to mark his victory in Civic polls. In the recently concluded Civic Polls in Goa, Kishore Shet is one of the 5 BJP councilors who won from the small town of Canacona, Goa.

BJP panels secured victory in 6 councils out of the 11 which went to the poll. In one council of Canacona though, there was a tie and no panel emerged victorious. Now Canacona has shot into fame because of a video which has gone viral on social media, which shows a corporator elected from the BJP panel, being bathed in what appears to be milk, to celebrate his victory.

In India where people die every day due to hunger, so much of Milk is wasted in this shameless exercise of self-glorification. Earlier this year, Modi had condemned some over-zealous supporters for building a temple to worship him. Perhaps the message has not gone out to all his supporters.

This new way of celebration is mis-using the prized resources in a hungry country, and setting wrong examples for the supporters and political fraternity.
