NEWS, Kerala: A 19-year-old microbiology student allegedly committed suicide in Kozhikode, Kerala. Her parents claim that she was a victim of constant ragging and harassment by seniors in her college.

Asnas, a 19-year-old daughter of Hameed from Thodannoor committed suicide by hanging herself inside the bathroom of her house on Friday around 6:30 in the evening. Asnas was a second-year student in BSc microbiology at MHES College at Cherandathur.

According to the reports,  Asnas had complained to college authorities about her seniors who were harassing her. The college authorities, despite listening to Asnas’ ordeal, did not take any actions against the culprits.

Her parents claim that she was a victim of constant ragging and harassment by seniors in her college.

Police have started conducting a preliminary investigation into the case as no suicide note was found.
