CBI Files Cases Against 5 HAL Officials For Stealing Rs.13 Crores

The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) filed 5 legal cases against Bhaben Maitra the Senior Manager in the HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd) and 4 other people for stealing Rs.13 Crores between the years 2013 and 2018.

The CBI registered the cases after a complaint was registered by Uday Kumat Rout the Manager of the HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd) Engine Department on Tuesday.

A Senior Manager in the Finance Department was also involved in the crime, CBI filed a case against Abinash Kumar Sarkar the Assistant in Finance and Accounts, other officials, contractors, and employees of HAL were also included.

Bhaben Maitra was suspended last year.

Uday Kumat Rout in his complaint said that the theft happened between January 2013 and August 2018.

Uday Kumat Rout said that payment vouchers revealed that more than Rs.13 Crores were spent without having any official supporting receipts or documents for them.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has also filed cases against the 5 HAL officials under criminal conspiracy, cheating, misappropriation, and criminal misconduct.
