Chattisgarh: A 24-year-old man was arrested from the district of Raigarh after he reportedly raped a 17-year-old tribal girl and uploaded her nude pictures on a social media platform.

Arjun Kurre, the Sub Divisional Officer of Dhamajaigarh Police said that that a complaint was registered against 24-year-old Anurag Singh, the report said that he raped the 17-year-old girl and promised to marry here.

Officer Arjun also said that Anurag took photos of the 17-year-old girl and started to blackmail her just to get into a sexual relationship with him.

But on 2nd February, 24-year-old Anurag posted the nude pictures of the girl on a social media platform, this is when the 17-year-old girl approached the police and reported the incident.

Anurag Singh is the son of a police officer who is posted in the district of Janjgir-Champa, he is charged under several Indian Penal Code Sections, this includes 376 (Rape), 506 (Criminal Intimidation), and 341 (Wrongful Restraint).

He was also charged against several provisions of the POCSO act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and the Information Technology act.

Arjun Kurre, the Sub Divisional Officer of Dhamajaigarh Police said that a team has been assigned to find the accused and arrest him.
