Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Roorkee is going to conduct Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) on 4th, 5th, 11th & 12th February 2016. GATE 2017 Registrations:

GATE exam is conducted every year as a gateway to postgraduate courses at the Master’s and Doctoral level across the country. The score is also used by some Public and Private Sector Undertakings for employment processes. Direct recruitment to Group A level posts i.e., Senior Field Office (SFO Tele), Senior Research Officer (SRO) (Crypto) and SRO(S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat is now being done on the basis of GATE scores. It primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science.

The GATE exam is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board GATE, Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India. Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates who hold any of the following degrees are eligible to apply for GATE 2017:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (four years after 10+2 or three years after Diploma in Engineering or Technology)
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (five years)
• Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc.)
• Master’s degree in any branch of Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications or its equivalent
• Four-year integrated Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology
• Five-year integrated Master’s degree or dual degree in Engineering or Technology
• Five-year integrated M.Sc. or five-year integrated B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree

GATE 2017 Exam pattern:

The GATE 2017 is online examination will consist of a single paper and the duration of the same will be of three hours. The question paper will consist of both multiple choice questions (MCQ) and numerical answer type questions for 100 marks.
