Indian Cricket Players Wear Black Armbands In the1st T20I as they Pay Homage To the 40 Soldiers who were Killed In the Pulwama Attack

The Indian Cricket team paid homage to the 40 soldiers who were killed in the Pulwama Terrorist-Attack by wearing black armbands as they were silent for 2 minutes before they started the first T20 International match against the Team of Australia in the city of Visakhapatnam on Sunday. On February 14, 2019, 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a terrorist-attack in the district of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the series opener of the T20 International, Virat Kohli the skipper for the Indian team said: “Our sincere condolences to the families of CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in Pulwama Attack.”

Kolhi also said about the fact that there will be a math against Pakistan in the ICC World Cup, he said: “We stand by what the nation wants to do and what the BCCI decides to do.”

After the Pulwama attack, a lot of fans and cricketers said that India should boycott Pakistan from the World Cup that is set to start on May 30 in Wales and England.

India was asked to bat first in Visakhapatnam after Aaron Finch the skipper from Australia won the toss coin, Australia selected to field first.

Aaron Finch said: “It looks like a really nice wicket and I don’t think it is going to change much.”

Virat Kohli returned to the field after taking a small break as he leads the Indian Cricket Team. He wanted to have more ODI’s in the T20 International matches, and adds that the Indian Team will treat the T20 International Games as an extended preparation for the upcoming world cup this year.

Virat Kohli said: “Probably, a couple of more ODIs would have been more beneficial for both the teams not just us. It would have been more ideal and logical.”

Virat adds: “But look we have to utilize what’s in front of us as best as possible. And as I said we’re going to look to get into the right kind of frame of mind as a team.”
