Man Arrested After Trying To Kill Transgender Wife After He Got To Know She Was Having An Affair

Amar Colony, Delhi: A taxi driver was arrested by the police after he tried to kill his wife on suspicions of having an affair with someone else.

Authorities have arrested 24-year-old Gyanender Shukla, he is a resident of Timarpur, New Delhi.

The police said that the incident happened on Saturday.

The police said that investigations revealed that Shukla was suspecting that his wife was having an affair.

The wife of Shukla is a transgender.

The man reportedly attacked her with a kitchen knife and left the house after believing that she had died.

When Shukla left, the wife made a video of her with the gruesome injury on her throat and sent it to her father.

She could not cry because of the cut on her throat, so she banged the doors and alerted the laters.

She was then rushed to the AIIMS trauma center.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) RP Meena said released a statement about the incident, where they said:

The accused was arrested on Saturday. Interrogation revealed that the duo got married on March 13, 2019. Shukla’s family was against the marriage and evicted them from the house.

A case has been registered at Amar Colony Police Station.

The father of the woman said that he gave his flat to his transgender daughter so they could live there and start a new life.

However, Shukla was suspecting his wife’s character and they often fought with each other.

An official investigation has been launched for the incident.
