The selection process for the recruitment is given below.

• GATE – 2016 : The desirous and eligible candidates having the essential qualification for the advertised posts should have appeared in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2016 & GATE Subject with Code under Eligibility Criteria and declared qualified by the GATE-2016 authorities .
• The GATE-2016 Score in the subject mentioned against the posts of ONGC will be considered by ONGC for shortlisting the candidates for the further selection process of Personal Interview as per the criteria decided by the Management.

The final merit list shall be prepared based on the weightages assigned to various parameters as follows:

(i) Weightage of GATE 2016 Score- 60 Marks
(ii) Interview – 15 Marks
(iii) Qualification – 25 Marks ( 20 Marks for Essential Qualification & up to 05 marks for additional in-line higher qualification*)

• In order to be selected, candidates are required to qualify in the GATE-2016 and thereafter again in the interview separately in addition to fulfilling qualification criteria.
• In case the total marks for final selection are same then the candidate who gets more marks in performance (Weightage of GATE-2016 Score + Interview) is considered senior and if equal marks are scored in performance than the one older in age is considered senior for the release of the name.
• Departmental candidates shall be given first consideration in matters of selection, while other things such as qualification, eligibility and selection criteria etc. remain the same.
• Only GATE-2016 Score is valid for the recruitment exercise in ONGC under this advertisement. Score from GATE-2015 or from any previous GATE examination is not valid
