12-Year-Old Tourist Loses Arm And Tour Guide Loses Leg In Shark Attack At Egyptian National Park

A 12-year-old tourist lost an arm and a tour guide lost a leg during a shark attack in the Sharm El-Sheikh Resort of Egypt.

The news was reported by officials on October 27, 2020.

The boy, who was not identified, was attacked on October 25, 2020, when he and his mother went snorkeling in the Ras Mohammed National Park.

The Environment Ministry confirmed that 2 injured parties were taken to a local hospital.

It was later confirmed by the authorities that the attack was carried out by a 6ft long Oceanic Whitetip Shark.

The State Agency for the Development of Tourism (Ukraine) released a statement about the incident.

They said that the boy is currently in intensive care.

A surgery was done to save his arm, but it was unsuccessful.

An Egyptian health official said that the guide lost one of their legs.

The mother of the boy sustained minor injuries.

The health official’s identity was also kept anonymous because they were not authorized to brief the media about the incident.

The Ras Mohammed National Park was placed on close after the incident happened.
