2 Elephants Collapse After Drinking 30 Liters Of Wine

A pair of elephants have been pictured apparently collapsed in a tea garden after they raided a Chinese village and drank 30 liters of wine, corn wine to be exact.

The 2 adorable elephants were part of a herd of 14 Asian elephants, which managed to break into a village in China.

The incident reportedly happened in the south-western Yunnan Province, in China.

Villagers Li Yuncong and Wang Xiangdong both reported damage to corn storage vessels and grain alcohol vats, as well as solar panels, windows, and doors.

Luckily, there were no human injuries.

The images were first shared by Zuzou Bingbing Travel Photography on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging platform similar to Twitter.

The week forestry authorities in the tea-growing city of Pu’er, China, revealed the incident and confirmed that it happened.

Unfortunately, the forestry authorities denied that the elephants were drunk and officials shared images of the 2 happy beasts that were lying down back, resting after drinking 30 liters of corn wine.

Long Yunhai, the deputy director of the Menghai Forestry and Grassland Administration, said pictures that showed drunk elephants were not true.

The statement added, “There have indeed been recent reports of 14 Asian elephants entering villages and damaging vats of grain alcohol, but whether they drank any alcohol is hard to determine.”

Drunk or not, the 2 elephants are adorable.
