Deer Rescued By Wildlife Officials After Its Antlers And Face Got Tangled In Large String Of Holiday Lights

A deer was rescued by wildlife officials in Colorado, United States of America after its antlers and face got entangled with large strings of holiday lights.

The deer was found by locals, who later informed the authorities.

A statement that was released by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Southeast Region said that they dispatched an officer on Tuesday this week after a buck was spotted with its head covered in holiday lights.

The incident happened in Colorado Springs on December 8, 2020.

Wildlife officials said that the deer had thrashed in an attempt to get the lights out of its antlers.

It ended up getting the lights tangled around its neck and mouth, said the officers that were trying to help the deer.

The statement added:

This buck’s vision was obscured, making it vulnerable around cars. With wires wrapped in its mouth, it likely couldn’t eat or drink. It might have starved. Had it jumped a fence, the cords might have gotten caught and hung the animal.

The lights were removed from the deer and the majestic deer was released back into the wild after the mission.
