Dog Owners Left In Tears After Being Reunited With Pet Dog 6 Years After She Was Stolen

Absolutely heartwarming!

A video that is viral on the internet right now shows the moment 2 dog owners are reunited with their pet dog 6 years after she was stolen.

50-year-old  Simon Hall and 48-year-old Carolina were left devastated when their dog, a cocker spaniel, was stolen.

Bonnie got stolen in May of 2014.

The couple gave up finding the dog because it had been 6 years, but good things happened.

Earlier this week, Simon got a call from a dog warden saying that the dog, Bonnie, had been found.

Simon and Caroline, who are from Durham, were reunited with their pet dog 1 day before she turned 10 years old.

She was found 200 miles away from her house, which was in Norfolk.

Talking about the find, Caroline said:

We just can’t believe it. It was only a couple of years ago that I gave up hope but I was still checking all the lost dog sites. It’s all a bit surreal. I’d prepared myself for the fact she might look in a bad way but actually she’s looking quite well. I know the vets have taken wonderful care of her.

The poor dog was stolen to breed.

The Terrington St John Veterinary Centre said that she gave birth to a litter within the last 2 months.

She underwent a hysterectomy at the Terrington St John Veterinary Centre.

Only god knows what Bonnie had been through, said Simon.

Simon added:

Gosh knows what she’s been through. It doesn’t bear thinking about but at least we can get her back for a few more years and give her a bit of love and care and attention.

Caroline Trigg, the Fenland District Dog Warden, said that it was really wonderful to be able to reunite Bonnie with her owners.

Trigg also runs the Ravenswood Pet Rescue at Walton Highway.

Trigg released a statement about the incident, where they said:

With missing dogs, sometimes they go in the morning and are back in the afternoon – or a couple of days at most. I’ve never known a dog to have been gone this long before. I think Bonnie’s had a hard time with the breeding side. Someone has made a lot of money out of her, which is very sad. And she has clearly never been to a vet’s over those six-and-a-half years or her chip would have been read. But being able to get her back to her loving home is wonderful – just the good news we need this year.

Katie, the 21-year-old daughter of Carolina and Simon, was with them during the reunion.

The best thing about this news was that the dog had a microchip, which allowed the rescuers to locate the owners of the dog.

The Hall family now wants to take Bonnie back her to their house so they could introduce her to their other dog, Jessie.

Carolina added:

We’ll now take her back home and introduce her to our other dog, Jessie, and just have a quiet night in front of the fire. I think her birthday will be a quiet one too.
