Dog Shot Twice While Protecting Young Girl From Armed Robbers

Starla, a 2-year-old dog, is currently being praised as a hero for saving a young girl’s life from armed robbers.

On March 3, 2020, 2 men, one of whom was armed, showed up at the Ewing residence in South Fulton Georgia, with the intention of robbing the house.

But thanks to Starla, the plans of the 2 robbers were stopped thanks to the brave act of the Yorkie, who saved a small child as well as chasing the intruders away.

During an interview with Dion Ewing, the owner of the house, explained what happened.

Mr. Ewing said her niece was home alone at the time, with only Starla there to keep her company.

The peace of the young girl was soon disturbed when 2 men showed up at the premises.

The owner of the house said, “My niece got an alert on her phone… about somebody approaching.”

The niece of Mr. Ewing had to sit and watch as the men started to try and force their way into the house.

Dion said: “The other partner turned around and started kicking it from the back and he kicked it about two times and then the back came open. The door came open.”

As soon as they broke in, Starla went after the robbers, and in the process, the dog was shot twice while protecting the dog.

Starla distracted the intruders and gave Dion’s niece a moment to escape through the garage.

Ewing added, “But as she was running out, the one who had the gun asked the other one if they wanted them to shoot her.”

Luckily, the young girl, whose age was not shared with the public, was not shot by the robbers.

Dion said, “They were chasing her out and the dog was chasing behind them. Even after being shot.”

For those that are worried about the health condition of Starla, don’t worry, the hero dog is making a steady recovery.

Ewing said, “This little thing right here. It’s just like a little guard dog. And we are trying to keep her limited on the moving because of where she got injured at. They don’t want her to rip her lacerations. She got shot in her front leg and back leg.”

The 2 robbers reportedly made a hasty escape after Starla disrupted their plans, speeding away from the scene.

Ewing said, “They’re cowards. I think that you know, if you know anything, please turn them in.”

Authorities in Georgia are encouraging anyone with information about the robbers to contact the South Fulton Police Department.
