Howdy Pigeon: Someone In Las Vegas Is Putting Tiny Cowboy Hats On Pigeons
Someone in Las Vegas has been placing teeny tiny cowboy hats on the heads of pigeons, and local animal rescue groups are trying to find the person responsible.
Others are outraged with the hats, but one guy says the “rodeo is in town.”

Robert Lee, a man from Las Vegas, saw the pigeon with a cowboy hat on its head and started to record it.
Talking about the video, Lee said: “The rodeo is in town.”
He added, “That’s the only explanation I have. I saw something red on the pigeon’s head and looked down to these awesome things.”
Lofty Hopes, a pigeon advocacy group, and local animal rescue groups are having serious concerns about the negative impacts the hats are going to have on the pigeons.
Mariah Hillman, the person who runs Lofty Hopes, said, “At first, I was like, oh my God that’s cute.”
She added, “Then, I was like, wait a minute – how did they get those hats on there?”
The person who placed hats on the pigeons remains unknown, but Lofty Hopes is on a mission to track the person responsible and the birds so they can remove their small hats.
Hillman said, “Did they glue them? And what does that mean for them?”
She added, “Is it something that’s going to impede their flight or attract predators?”
Mariah Hillman runs the animal advocacy organization.
The slogan of Lofty Hopes is: “A pigeon positive movement.”
Lofty Hopes shared a video on Monday that showed a number of pigeons wearing the cowboy hats.
The organization also asked people to call them if they see pigeons wearing cowboy hats on the number that they posted on their Facebook Page.
