Mystery: Thousands Of Fish Wash Up Dead On Deserted Beach In Mexico

Thousands of fish have washed up on a shore of a beach in Mexico, which has left experts and locals extremely baffled.

Images that were captured and shared on social media shows the dead fishes lying dead on the beach.

The incident happened at the Acapulco Beach, which is located in the South-Western Mexican state of Guerrero.

Residents of the local area went to the scene to look at the dead fishes.

It is reported that some of the locals caught fish from the beach and ate it for food.

The fish that washed up on the beach belongs to a species of mackerels, which are also known as the common jackfish.

Residents believe that the phenomenon happened because no one was coming to the beaches due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sabas Arturo de la Rosa Camacho, who is in charge of maintaining the beaches in Acapulco Municipality, said that the coronavirus pandemic has nothing do with the fish washing up dead at the beach.

Some believed that the fish died due to a lack of oxygen, but he also rejected those claims.

Authorities believe that the fish were looking for sardines, but ended up swimming on the shore, which caused their deaths.
