A brave police dog named Chief is currently being hailed as a hero on social media after surviving a stabbing frenzy while they were taking on a carjacker during a dramatic pursuit.
The incident happened across Sydney, Australia.
Chief is a police dog for the NSW Police.
They are being praised as a hero after they were stabbed during a dramatic 60-kilometer pursuit across Sydney, confirmed the authorities.
Chief was nearly knifed when he and his handler tried to restrain a 33-year-old man in the M5 tunnel that is located in Arncliffe, south Sydney.
According to official reports, the incident happened on Wednesday this week.
The handler of Chief is a male Sargent, who was bitten by the 33-year-old man.
The police dog fought and left the offender with a bunch of bite marks.
Chief only sustained minor injuries along with the handler and the 2 are currently recovering well after the attack.
The NSW Police praised Chief for his heroic efforts on Thursday.
The authorities released a statement about the incident on social media, where they said:
This police doggo assisted with the arrest of a suspect yesterday. During the arrest, both the police dog and a hooman colleague sustained minor injuries, however we’re happy to report that both are okay. 12/10 effort .
