Reticulated Python Named Medusa Is The Longest Snake Ever In Captivity And She Is 25ft Long

This one is so big, you might want to run away.

Medusa is a name that you are familiar with and it looks like her snake form is alive today and is living in Kansas.

The longest snake ever is Medusa, she is a reticulated python that lives in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

She is owned by Full Moon Productions Inc.

The snake was measured in 2011 and at that time, she was around 25 ft 2 inches long.

She currently holds the title ‘Longest Snake – Living in captivity’.

Adult reticulated pythons are capable of growing up to 10 to 20 ft long, but the snake that we are talking about is really long.

When Medusa was being measured, 15 people had to hold her at full length.

The best thing about this snake is that she is just 10 years old.

The snake is capable of eating rabbits, hogs, and deer.

She can eat an 18-kilogram deer in just a single sitting.

The python herself weighs around 158.8 kilograms.

Reticulated pythons are great swimmers and they are usually found in Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Medusa is currently living at the “The Edge of Hell Haunted House” in Kansas City.

Before Medusa, the record-holder was Fluffy.

Fluffy was found to be around 24ft long when she was measured on September 30, 2009.

On October 26, 2010, Fluffy died at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

She was living in Ohio, USA.

But they are not the largest ones ever to be discovered.

In 1912, a specimen that was shot in Sulawesi measured a jaw-dropping 10 m (32 ft 10 in).

The sad part about that snake is that the animal, who was not named, was never kept alive in captivity.
