Reward Offered To Person Who Can Remove Tire That Has Been Stuck Around Crocodile’s Neck For Years

A small province in Indonesia is offering money to the person that can remove a tire that has been stuck around a crocodile’s neck for years.

According to Antara News Agency, a state-run news agency, the crocodile, which is around 13-feet-long, has been carrying around the motorcycle tire since 2016.

The crocodile was first spotted roaming the Palu River in the province of Central Sulawesi.

According to CNN, the crocodile with the motorcycle tire survived the tsunami and massive earthquake that struck the region.

Despite all the hunts and things the crocodile went through, the tire didn’t move from the neck of the crocodile.

The Central Sulawesi’s Natural Resources Conservation Office (BKSDA) said they are worried that the crocodile might get strangled to death by the tire.

As an effort to save the crocodile, the office launched a contest.

BKSDA Chief Hasmuni Hasmar said, “A reward will be given to anyone who can release the hapless reptile.”

Chief Hasmar did not share further details about the reward.

In 2018, Muhammad Panji, an animal whisperer and conservationist, made an attempt to remove the tire that was stuck around the crocodile’s neck, but the attempts failed.

The animal whisperer failed that year, and so did the BKSDA office.
