Florida Woman Leaves 3 Kids Alone In Bus Overnight To Smoke Weed On Boat
A 33-year-old woman from Florida is currently facing charges for leaving her 3 children alone in a bus overnight to smoke marijuana on a boat.
33-year-old Andrea L. Kerins was charged with 3 counts of felony child neglect for leaving her 3 children, who are 3, 6, and 9 years old, alone in a mini-bus to smoke marijuana on a boat.
The incident was confirmed by the Gulfport Police Department through a press release.
The incident came to light after an officer on routine spotted a mini-bus in a municipal beach parking lot on early Thursday morning.
After inspecting the vehicle, the police officer found 3 children inside.
Upon asking them, the kids told the officer that their mother had left at around 9 pm on the evening of Wednesday (December 11, 2019) to go out on a boat.
The marine patrol of Florida canvassed the boats nearby and found Andrea Kerins on a vessel where she was intending to spend the night in.
Reports suggest that the vessel belonged to 46-year-old Yuri Radzibaba, a friend of Kerin.
The police said Kerins was smoking marijuana on the boat.
Inside the mini-bus, investigating officers found a propane tank and a 5-gallon bucket which is meant to serve as a makeshift toilet.
They also found a bin of food.
The children did not have any access to a mobile phone.
Meg’s Playhouse and School, the company’s name that was on the bus, is a school that is now closed.
The school was once located in Gallatin, Tennessee.
The last known address of Kerins’ was in Lafayette, Tennessee, which is 30 miles away from the pre-school.
The 3 kids were removed from Kerins care.
