Kidnapped And Raped: 14-Year-Old Girl Rescued After Friends Use Snapchat Tracker To Find Her Location
A 14-year-old girl from San Jose was rescued by the police after her friends used Snapchat, a social media platform, to find her exact location.
The San Jose Police said the 14-year-old, who was kidnapped and sexually assaulted, was able to alert her friends using Snapchat who later informed the police.
Snapchat allowed them to pinpoint the location of the girl.
The friends of the teen called the police, who responded to a suspicious circumstance at a motel in San Jose on about 11:08 am on Tuesday.
The announcement was made by the San Jose Police in a news release.
Authorities found 55-year-old Albert Thomas Vasquez as he was leaving a motel room, which had the 14-year-old girl inside.
Authorities arrested Vasquez and booked him into the Santa Clara County Jail on Wednesday along with felony charges of kidnapping to commit rape, digital penetration of a child under the age of 14 years with force, false imprisonment, lewd act with a child 14 or 15 years with force, and rape by intoxication or controlled substance.
Vasquez allegedly met the girl in Capitola earlier this week and gave her drugs, which led her to become incapacitated.
Vasquez later called 34-year-old Antonio Quirino Salvador and 31-year-old Hediberto Gonzalez Avarenga for assistance.
Salvador and Avarenga are both from Fremont.
The 3 suspects placed the 14-year-old girl in their vehicle against her will.
Vasquez, a 55-year-old man, sexually assaulted her before they drove to the motel in San Jose.
The 3 men carried the girl into a room on the second floor of the motel.
Upon placing the 14-year-old girl there, Vasquez sexually assaulted the girl again.
Salvador and Avarenga were arrested on Wednesday in San Jose and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on felony charges of Kidnapping and Conspiracy.
Salvador is being held at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas on $150,000 bail.
It is still unclear where Avarenga is being held by the authorities.
