Man Who Got Lost In The Wild For 18 Days Survived By Only Eating Wild Mushrooms And Drinking Dam Water
A 58-year-old man from Australia that got lost in the wild for 18 days survives by only eating wild mushrooms.
Robert Weber, the elderly man, got lost in the bushes of Australia for almost 3 weeks and they managed to survive it by just eating wild mushrooms.
Not only that, but they only drank dam water for their thirst.
Robert Weber disappeared with his pet dog in Queensland on January 6, 2021.
He was lost spotted leaving a hotel.
The man said that he drove to a farm road and he got stuck in the dirt.
The elderly man remained inside his car for the first 3 days, but after his water ran out, he had to leave.
The man walked the bushlands to search for food and water, however, he got lost and ended up spending the next 15 days in the wild.
He survived by only drinking wild mushrooms and drinking water that he found in a dam.
He was then found sitting under a tree near the dam by his wife.
That spot was 3 kilometers away from his car.
Before that, a search party was created to search the man.
Tony Perret, a resident, continued to look for Weber even after the search was officially called off by the authorities.
During an interview with ABC News, Perret said that the party had crossed the dam several times but the man was not spotted.
Weber was spotted after some time and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The man did not suffer any serious injuries during his 18 day long stay in the wild.
The police released a statement about the incident, where they said:
He remained at his car with his dog for three days before running out of water. He left on foot and became lost and remained at a dam where he survived by sleeping on the ground, drinking dam water, and eating mushrooms. Mr Weber was conveyed to hospital suffering exposure to the elements but was otherwise safe and well.
The authorities are yet to release more information about the man and his condition.
