13-Year-Old Greater Manchester Boy Charged With Murder After Man Found Dead In Church Garden

Greater Manchester, UK: A 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man was found dead outside a church.

According to reports, Steven McMyler, who is from Wigan, was found dead in the gardens of Wigan Parish Church last Thursday.

Authorities believe that the 34-year-old man died after an altercation at the scene.

A number of arrests have been made for the incident. A 19-year-old man has appeared in court and has been charged with murder.

Jordan Short, who is from Kirby in Merseyside, appeared in court on August 14, 2020.

The 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder.

The police said that 3 men, who are 30, 19, and 18, have been released.

They were arrested on suspicion of murder.

The police released a statement about the incident, where they said:

Shortly before 7.50pm on Thursday, August 6, police were called by the ambulance service to reports of concern for a man outside the church on Bishopgate, Wigan. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Steven James McMyler sadly died at the scene.

The family of the victim said that McMyler was a very loved person.

They added:

Steven was an extremely likeable lad, and everyone who came across him loved him as much as we all did. He was a popular lad, and he lit the room up as soon as he walked in. Everybody thought the world of him, as he had a heart of gold. We can’t believe what has happened, and we are struggling to come to terms with this terrible tragedy.

A police investigation is still being carried out.
