Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Directorate of Transport, Port Blair has invited online applications for the posts of Depot Clerk in the transport department. The recruitment notification was issued last month and the online application submission procedure for the same was commenced on 25th July at 10 AM and the administration has directed applicants to register themselves before 24th August (midnight).

A total of 20 posts are to be filled of which, 12 are for general category candidates, 07 for other backward classes and 01 for Scheduled Tribe. Pay scale: Level-2 (Rs 19900-63200) as per the 7th CPC.

Educational Qualifications: Applicant must have passed senior school certificate examination (12th standard) or equivalent from a recognised board. Apart from this, the contender must hold one year diploma in computer application from the recognised government organisation/ institution. And can type on computer with a speed of 35 WPM (words per minute) in English and 30 WPM in Hindi correspond to 10500 KDPH/ 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word.

Age limit: Applicant have not crossed the maximum age limit of 33 years and must have attained the minimum age of 18 years as on 29th June 2018. Upper age limit for female candidates is 38 years. Age is relaxable upto 5 years for ST candidates and government servants while three years for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes.

Selection Procedure:-

• Written Test: Questions related to general intelligence, English Language, General Awareness and Numerical Aptitude are to be asked in the examination. Each section carries 50 marks. To complete the test, aspirants will be given two hours of duration. The Visually Handicapped candidates will get two hours and forty minutes to finish the examination.
• The candidates qualifying in part 1 examination would be required to appear for the next level – typewriting test. The test will be organised for 10 minutes duration only to check the typing essentials of a candidate.+

Interested candidates can enrol themselves for the recruitment using online mode through erecruitment.andaman.gov.in. After filling out the form, candidates don’t need to send any hardcopy nor any certificate to the officials. Document verification of selected candidates will be done later.
